MUNICH, Germany – Finnish Amer Sports Group – among others parent company of Salomon Group (including Mavic) – wants to concentrate all its sports brands in one headquarter. Therefore in summer 2010 the company will move to Garching near Münich, Germany where the new location is now under construction.

Amer Sports new headquarter will house all national and international organizations, is noted in a press release of Amer-Germany. With its central western European location it will be the one and only contact unit for the Amer sports brands Salomon, Bonfire, Atomic, Wilson, Precor, Suunto und Mavic.

“Dynamic growth requires more space. The new building in Garching is a clear statement for the sports city Munich and creates the best working conditions for all our employees”, states Armin Fuchs, GM of Amer Sports Deutschland GmbH in a press release. Amer Sports Germany is closely involved in the planning of the new headquarters. The approximately 180 employees will be housed in a 6,000 square meter complex that has two floors for sales & marketing and administration plus a large warehouse.

The new location is very close to the Austrian Atomic Group headquarter in Altenmarkt. For the Salomon Group located in Annecy, France Munich is also easy to reach. From Munich Airport to Garching it is just a few kilometers.

The concentration in one headquarter for all brands means that the German Salomon office in Oberaudorf will be closed. But the regional show rooms in existing order centers will remain, is noted in the press release of Amer Sports. (JB)
