Latest Technology Carbon Clincher to Debut at Eurobike
TAICHUNG, Taiwan - Carbon components manufacturer, Xpace Industrial, will debut their much-anticipated full carbon clincher wheelset, code name Xi Shan (West Mountain) at 2009 Eurobike.
Over 2 years in development under the technical direction of Paul Farrell of Leggera Technologies International (LTI), the Xi Shan rim is the latest development of advanced technologies and materials.
“This project has been a truly international effort” says Farrell. “Carbon materials researchers and producers from around the world have collaborated with my team of specialist rim engineers at Xpace. The result is a rim made of innovative materials such as thermal and nano-carbons, featuring the Patented SAT (Spoke Anchor Technique) hole-less bridge technology and true-angle spoke drilling.”
“The technically complex rim structure has set new benchmarks in terms of low weight, stiffness and performance”, claims Farrell. “The past twelve months of test data verifies that the current 400 grams, 40 millimetre clincher rim is significantly stiffer, stronger and more durable than other 500 plus grams rims currently available.”
