FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany - Ultra Motor officially launched at last week’s Eurobike its first e-Bike without pedals. The new A2B Excel is an Electric Scooter.
The A2B Excel offers a host of innovation and technology. Not only does the A2B Excel use Ultra Motor’s proprietary 800W direct drive motor but is combined with “Intelligent Dual Energy Power” IDEP Technology.
The IDEP system uses a removable, portable lithium-ion battery to store electricity and supply it at a stable rate to an internal lithium-ion battery. This delivers a greater range, extended battery life and most importantly ease of charging: the portable power pack will recharge the internal battery.
The A2B Excel retails for € 3,199 and is available in spring 2010. Key features include a maximum speed of 45km/h; maximum range of 45km; exclusive IDEP technology with 2 Li-ION batteries and a 800W direct drive motor.
Ultra Motor also announced to have appointed two new distributors in Europe; Easy Bike for the France market and Komenda for Switzerland. Established since February 2005, Easy Bike specialises in the manufacture and distribution of electrically assisted bicycles. Komenda, a key bicycle distributor for well known brands such as Giant, Schwalbe & Abus has been looking to extend their portfolio to have a focus on the ever growing electric bicycle category which it has found in Ultra Motor.
