Paris Grants Euro 400 Subsidy on e-Bike
PARIS, France - The Paris Council has voted to extend the existing subsidy on the purchase of e-Scooters by including e-Bikes. This decision complies with the city’s strategy on improvement of mobility, public health, and the fight against air pollution and noise.
The subsidy amounts up to 25% of the purchase price with a maximum of € 400. It applies to all Parisians, whiles the period as well as the budget, is not limited.
The promotion of cycling is one of the major targets of the City of Paris. Since 2001, over 200 kilometres of cycle paths have been completed while another 200 kilometres are to be built by 2014.
The development of this network, together with various support measures such as parking spaces for bicycles or the extension of the Vélib has resulted in strong growth in daily cycling.
