Last Chance to Join Taichung Bike Week

TAICHUNG, Taiwan – Parts manufacturers that are interested in joining this year’s Taichung Bike Week have to be quick with their application.

As there’s only limited space left for renting meeting rooms in two of the three Taichung hotels that take part in the event, it is the last chance to join this important event targeted to product managers.

It is expected that a total of 150 parts manufacturers will present their line-ups for modelyear 2011 at this year’s Taichung Bike Week. With that the end-of-the-year industry gathering almost doubles in size compared to last year when about 80 companies took part.

Next to more exhibitors the 2009 Taichung Bike Week will also show the increased support the event is getting from the Taichung city government. As the official sponsor of the event the Taichung city government is arranging shuttle busses that run between the participating hotels (Freshfields, Tempus (former Landis) and Splendor); visitor and exhibitor information services at each of the participating hotels; the Taichung Bike Week 2009 catalogue and the Taichung Bike Week dinner that will be hosted by courtesy of Mayor Hu. This international networking event is free to all participants.

Also the Splendor hotel in Taichung is investing in Taichung Bike Week as it aims to develop the hotel as the main centre for future Taichung Bike Week events. The Splendor offers dedicated purpose build meeting rooms (6 x 3 meters for NTD 8,000 per day); special room rates; lunch service while the Taichung Bike Week dinner on December 8 takes place in the Splendor.

The 2009 mini trade show event is the first edition that takes place under the Taichung Bike Week ‘umbrella’. This umbrella was formalized through the efforts of two (non-paid) volunteers, Steve Fenton (ProLite) and Katerina Rejchrtova (WTB), with considerable support from the Taichung City Government and the City Mayor, Mr. Jason Hu and his assistant, Ms. Anna Wang.

Taichung Bike Week 2009 takes place from December 5 – 13. The event has grown in status and importance to an internationally recognized industry meeting place, scheduled at a critical time for OEM product managers to review and finalize specification decisions. This is the global hotspot for OEM product managers and bike brands to see developments in bicycle component supplier’s lines, and to develop and finalize specifications.
