STUTTGART, Germany - Supported by Paul Lange & Co., German extreme cyclist Guido Kunze is going to try to break the current World Record time riding across Australia.
Today, October 20th the 43-year-old started his attempt to cover the 4.200 kilometres from Sydney to Perth in less than 8 days and 10 hours, the current World Record time.
This challenge doesn’t only require an excellent fitness state but is also highly demanding for his bike. With respect to that fact Paul Lange & Co provided him Shimano’s electronic Dura-Ace Di2 as well as C24 CL wheels, SH-R310 custom-fit shoes and Dura-Ace pedals.
Besides acting as an ambassador for the project “Polio Now - for a world without polio”, a worldwide charity project of the Rotary Clubs and the Bill Gates Foundation, Guido Kunze’s record attempt is also seen by Shimano as an ambitious endurance and performance test
Kunze aims to cover the whole distance without recharging the battery for his Di2 components. Media coverage of the record attempt is guaranteed by a TV crew.
