BRUSSELS, Belgium – The European Union has ordered the direct sales ban or withdrawal of several models made by several manufacturers within the EU as the do not comply with the European EN 14766 standard. The bikes included in the most recent sales bans are:
Brand: Leader Fox
Type/number of model: AWAY, CS8, 28-inch, No of frame: LF80104213
Description: Bicycle for ladies with 28 inch wheels and 21 speeds, suspended front fork, frame from aluminium alloy. Marking on the frame 4CW, LEADER FOX, No of frame ITFSD08A00245.
Country of origin: Czech Republic
Injuries: the product poses a risk of injuries because:
- the design of the brake lever does not allow safe operation of the brakes,
- the handlebar stem can crack,
- the frame tube and the front fork can easily break,
- the axle of the crank assembly can fracture.

Injuries: the product poses a risk of injuries because:
- the cable caps do not meet the requirements,
- the handlebar stem can crack,
- the axle of the crank assembly can fracture.

Description: Mountain bicycle with 26-inch wheels and 21 speeds, suspended front fork, frame from aluminium alloy. Marking - on the frame Xuantum and Carratt, on the rear fork - MTB OFF ROAD ENERGY. Sticker on the saddle tube contains logo ESPERIA and the number of technical standard EN - 14766.
Country of origin: Italy
Injuries: the product poses a risk of injuries because the frame tube of the bicycle can easily break (after 16,025 test cycles instead of 50,000). In addition, it is not equipped with a spoke protector on the rear wheel.
This bike has been withdrawn from the market by the manufacturer.
