RATINGEN, Germany - To make a sustainable contribution to reducing CO2 emissions and climate protection, the German TNT Post has changed its strategy and is considering to start using e-Bikes for mail deliveries. In a three month’s trail period TNT Post will test the usability of e-Bikes for mail deliveries in cities of Dusseldorf, Essen, Moers, Viersen, Wesel and Wuppertal.

These e-Bikes are manufactured by Accell Pro, the B2B Unit of the Accell Group. Whether the e-Bikes at TNT post will withstand its field tests will become apparent in the coming weeks. If the results are positive it will be a major fuel-saving solution and change the daily work routine of the nation’s 5,000 post delivery men and women.

The e-Bikes chosen by TNT Post for this test are characterized by a very ergonomically riding position and very good ‘handling’. A stable carrier construction allows a total pay load of up to 80 kilograms. At the same time TNT Post has also received there new hand trolleys delivered by Accell Group. They can also be used as a bicycle trailer and thus increase the total pay load with an additional 60 kilograms.
