RELLINGEN, Germany - German bikewear brand Jeantex, former main sponsor of the prestigious Transalp mountain bike race, has announced the termination of all its activities by the end of this year.
According to the Linden family, who owns the brand, this drastic decision had to be taken due to the difficult economic environment and the lack of successors of the two Linden brothers (58 and 63 years old) who are currently managing the business. In the past years the family failed to find appropriate buyers for the brand name and the Jeantex activities.
Jeantex was founded by Jan Ansteen Nielsson in 1958 in a small town near Copenhagen as a manufacturer of clothing for the fishing industry. In the past year Jeantex was mainly involved in bike and yachting apparel.
Jeantex customers have been informed that pre-orders for 2010 will be delivered properly and re-orders will be served as long as the items required are in stock.
