HANNOVER, Germany – Next to e-Bikes also City Bikes with special transport features are trendy in the Netherlands. One of the biggest bike brands in Holland, Batavus, recently launched such a City-Transporter. Something that didn’t go unnoticed as this Batavus BUB won the prestigious IF Gold Award 2010.
The jury was enthusiastic about the design of the BUB and the lifestyle concept created by Batavus. “The design follows the principle of the paper clip and scores extra points for finish and shape. The result is a city bike with a refreshing look,” said the jury.
The jury also praised the original website www.Batavusbub.nl where customers can choose next to colours also from a range of components to have their BUB fitted with.
A very happy Batavus spokesman commented: “As other major brands like Apple, Dell and Volkswagen won this award, we are very proud with this recognition. For us this is like winning an Olympic title. The golden IF Design Award 2010 proves that our ideas for an innovative, personal and trendy urban bike are on the right track.”
