STUTTGART, Germany – To improve its customer service, Dahon has established a European Service Centre (DESC) located just outside Stuttgart operated by WM Trading GmbH (see photo), one of Dahon’s longtime partners in Europe.
“Cyclists are moving to higher price point bikes they increasingly use for daily transport,” stated Joshua Hon, Dahon vice president. “And they need and expect higher levels of service. When you depend on your bike to get to work, you can’t wait weeks for a replacement part. Our sales volume in Europe has hit a point where a dedicated service centre is the most efficient way to provide this high level of service.”
“With stock of all Dahon spare parts, and telephone operators who speak six languages, Dahon customers will get the parts they need much quicker,” stated Axel Keller, General Manager of WM Trading. “Our centralized location in Germany and warehouse with 1,200 square meters of storage space will allow for easier and faster processing and shipping of orders and parts.”
The new service centre will begin receiving stock in March of 2010 and will be working directly with Dahon’s network of European distributors. Dahon has also initiated plans to found similar service centres for other market regions.
