JD Group Takes Next Step in e-Bike Development

TAIPEI, Taiwan – As expected the e-Bike is playing a significant role at this year’s Taipei Cycle Show. This evening, Taiwanese JD Group launched a whole range of new products which are added to the TranzX PST e-Bike drive system family.

JD Group’s President Johnson Cho (right) said at the product presentation: “Aim is to further expand our market share with a more diverse product range which will appeal to a wider segment of the industry.”

Two brand new e-Bike designs, the Family 2+1 and a TranzX PST folding bike, as well as a series of component enhancements were unveiled today. The new TranzX PST line offers six e-Bike designs. Next to that the new TranzX e-Bike component range provides flexible solutions for diverse markets.

JD Group launched the Family 2+1 bike offering multiple add-ons and advanced safety features. It is designed with a lower weight balance, different wheel sizes and a battery solution that fits into the seat tube to present a unified form. For the folding bike market, TranzX PST has now a folder combining high performance with a compact construction. It features a simple folding mechanism and battery that fits neatly behind the seat tube.

TranzX’ upgraded front and rear motor systems are designed to provide up to 25% more torque to yield powerful support. The cassette freewheel function provides more flexibility with gear systems and guarantees compatibility with all kinds of brakes. JD has invested in upgraded display series with enhanced features for the Smart Sensor System and the Torque Sensor System. The enhanced functions include an automatic light sensor and a remaining range calculator. Four different power support modes can be selected, including economy, cruising, climbing, and turbo function.

The drive systems feature proprietary battery technology which has been re-engineered to create battery cells that are longer lasting. The new battery cells can be modified into different sizes and shapes The JDMM Sensor is an optimized drive system sensor that measures the tension of the chainstay, has no fall out requirements and is easy to assemble. The award winning Eagle has got a new carrier solution and proprietary lithium polymer power pack.
