DUARTE, USA – Folding bike specialist Dahon is launching Midtown Mini bicycles. This new series is based upon a new folding frame design that uses Dahon’s patented LockJaw folding technology; designed specifically for urban mobility.
Midtown Mini bikes combine the ease and convenience of a folding bicycle with the performance of a sleek diamond frame bicycle.
“Because of its ultra-light wheels, efficient frame, and agile geometry, we feel there’s no better bike for accelerating from traffic lights or dodging buses and cars,” explains Dahon vice president, Josh Hon.
Dahon offers four models based on the Midtown Mini platform of which the Silvertip (photo) promises to be the most popular in the class. It’s a flat bar road bike that is at home in the city for daily commutes as it is on long, fast weekend rides. The Shimano Tiagra drive train and premium components from SRAM, Schwalbe, FSA and Kinetix keep the bike light and fast.
The other Dahon Midtown Mini models are: Bullhead (Nexus 7 geared fast urban bike), Hammerhead (the lightest Midtown Mini of all bikes in this new category with SRAM X9 drivetrain), and the Smooth Hound (distinctively classic looking for casual city cruising or serious weekend touring).
