AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands – Following his promotional cycling tours in Taiwan and China, Giant founder King Liu (76) has embarked on his next trip, the Dutch 500. On the five-day trip, called “Green World on Wheels” he and his fellow cyclists including Giant CEO Tony Lo will ride a 500-kilometer route to view the cycling infrastructure of the Netherlands.

On his June 14 to 18 trip in the Netherlands King Liu heads a group of 25 Taiwanese participants. Daily an additional group like Dutch Giant dealers, Taiwanese industry members as well as Taiwanese expats, members of the Rabo Pro Team Project, the Dutch tourism industry and the TVM ice skating team joins King Liu.

“Primary goal of this cycling tour is to promote cycling in general and the use of e-Bikes in particular”, says Tony Lo. “12 years ago we launched our first e-Bike aimed at elderly people. Today we know the e-Bike market is much larger and the e-Bike drive train system can be implemented in nearly all segments and for all ages.”

The second goal of King Liu’s cycling tour is to learn about the Dutch cycling infrastructure, like the cycling highway between Breukelen and Utrecht. Not surprisingly Lo praised the cycling infrastructure in the Netherlands and expressed the hope that Taiwan and other countries will follow soon with investments in more cycling facilities.

Has King Liu already planned the next cycling tour? “I am a dreamer and right now I am in the middle of my dream of cycling in the Netherlands”, says King Liu. “After completing this tour, I will start dreaming on my next project.”
