APELDOORN, the Netherlands – The first Sparta ION e-Bikes with Li-ion battery technology were recently shipped to dealers. The model with the latest in e-Bike batteries is called RX-plus.
The main feature of this e-Bike is the Li-ion battery in combination with the proven Ion technology as Sparta, as with all other Accell Group’s subsidiaries, used mainly NiMH batteries. The new Li-ion battery system is also used on the new Koga e-lite.
“We have done a lot of engineering on Li-ion technology and the battery management system in combination with our Ion technology to guarantee the safety in use of these batteries and to guarantee our Ion quality standard,” said a spokesman of the company.
“Li-ion has many advantages over NiMH as it weights less but provides more energy. These two elements will determine the direction of future e-Bike developments as the market wants e-Bikes which are more powerful, but with less weight, making them easier to handle.”
