SR Suntour Launches e-Bike Groupset
TAICHUNG, Taiwan – At Bike Expo in Munich, which started last Thursday July 22, SR Suntour will officially launch their new e-Bike platform. It was also on display at Winora Staiger Group and the Hercules booths.
The e-Bike component group, called Human Electro Synergy Components (HESC) will be implemented in Winora’s and Hercules’ customized platforms Sinus and Ego. According to SR Suntour more OEM partners will be confirmed after Bike Expo.
The most remarkable element of the HESC e-Groupset of SR Suntour is the fork and hub motor combination. SR Suntour’s new SF11-NVX-HE 700C suspension fork was designed in combination with their new hub motor. The motor and the fork are basically forming one unit. The fork has extra thick dropouts which were designed to absorb the loads of the motor while rotating. According to SR Suntour the special stopper design of the motor in combination with the extra thick dropouts of the fork creates a more efficient power transmission and a higher interface strength. The fork has a 63 millimetres travel, 120 millimetres pitch O.L.D. and a coil spring with preload adjust.
The whole system was designed for easy handling. The LCD display is detachable. It can be operated via two buttons only and it acts as a theft protection. A power cut off sensor kit and push up support knob are directly connected to the display.
SR Suntour’s new HESC torque sensor crank features a cam based torque sensor system controlling each pedal stroke. The crank has been developed to be used with an internal gear system only. For external gear hub systems, HESC also features a TMM4 sensor including software.
To provide maximum flexibility HESC features a horizontal and a vertical Li-ion 8.0 Ah battery pack. It has a minimum of 500 charging cycles and can be charged in 2.5 hours. The battery pack will also be available in a 9.0 Ah version. The hub motor will be available in two versions, both featuring 250W and 36 V. The “All in One” plug connections makes it very ease to handle at assembly, claims SR Suntour.
