FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – Only 19 days left before the biggest bike show in the world is opening its doors. And for the ones visiting the ‘appetizer’ called Demo Day; only 18 days. What Eurobike 2010 will be all about is summed up here in the ‘Headlines’ for the 19th International Bicycle Trade Exhibition taking place from September 1 to 4 in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Like almost every previous Eurobike; also this year’s show is bigger than ever before. The 19th edition counts 1,090 exhibitors which are displaying all their newest products and services on more than 100,000 m² in 14 halls as well as on an open-air exhibition site.

What will also be bigger than ever before are the test tracks for electric bikes. This year there will be two test areas; one in the Zeppelin Hall and one near the East entrance. This one will connect to a long straight track that has a ‘hill’. This track is specially suited for riding so-called speed-pedelecs; electric bikes capable of doing speeds up to 40 km/h. It goes without saying that all top suppliers will have their latest models ready to be tested here.

New location Bike Fashion Show

Of course also the 19th Eurobike will feature the always much visited Bike Fashion Show. However, the show organizers changed the location. In order to attract more people to the new East entrance the Bike Fashion Show at Eurobike 2010 is taking place in Foyer Ost - Hall B5.

Next to the Bike Fashion Show Eurobike 2010 has more ‘side kicks’. Already named is the Demo Day that this year is taking place for the 4th time and hopefully the weather conditions will be the same as during the 3rd edition and not like the 2nd when waterfalls spoiled all the pre-show fun. The other major side event is the Eurobike Award that this year is organized for the 6th time. All important innovations are selected, awarded and lined up in a special Eurobike Award section at the main entrance of Eurobike 2010.

As said, in 19 days Eurobike 2010 will open its doors. After 4 intense show days it is expected that 35,000 industry specialists from 69 countries will have done their business. Next to them also more than 1,500 journalists from 36 countries are expected in Friedrichshafen.

By the way; one very important headline is not to be missed. It’s the one for the traffic to and from the showground. The organizers stipulate that this year all visitors can now use the new access roads to the show from the north and south while there are also, like last year, bikes available to pedal to Eurobike 2010.
