EU Forgets Bicycles
BRUSSELS, Belgium (October 24)- Upon revision of its DG TREN website, The European Commission has left out bicycle statistics. The same applies to the newest print of the EU Transport in Figures pocketbook. Colibi, Coliped, ETRA and ECF have sent a joint letter to mrs. Loyola de Palacio, commissioner for transport and energy. Their outline it that cycling takes a substantial part in daily personal transportation both in trips and in overall distance, and should it keep that position (preferably improve it), it is imperative to make the existence of commutive cycling visual for all. That means, among others, to include the figures in relevant sites and publications.(OB)
