RHEINE, Germany – Wholesaler and Batavus distributor in Germany Batavus Bäumker GmbH has expanded its products range with Vredestein tyres. As of August this year, both companies have renewed their cooperation, like in the past when both parties have operated together successfully for decades.

“Accell Group’s subsidiary Batavus Bäumker GmbH is a very interesting partner for us due to its favourable geographical location”, says Marc Ganzeboom, Manager Marketing & Sales of Vredestein Two Wheel Tyres. “Batavus Bäumker sets the tone for Vredestein in an important part of the German market. Our brand fits well into the portfolio of the company. The German market is an important market. We are pleased to be working with Batavus Bäumker and we expect to achieve continued growth in Germany.”

Franz Josef Bäumker is also delighted: “Vredestein’s completely new tyre range as well as Vredestein’s new market strategy is profitable to us. Vredestein enjoys a revival in the market as they are specified by a growing number of renowned bike makers. We are also excited because that we can get this genuine A-brand back into our delivery program.”

The renewed cooperation between both companies is a result of Vredestein’s new market approach after the take over by Apollo Tyres Ltd from India. “We have invested great efforts and money in an entirely new Touring/Trekking/City-range,” says Marc Ganzeboom.

“This program is based on the wishes and needs of the market: clarity and simplicity for consumers as well as for retailers and manufacturers. Our range consists of three quality levels, each with its own pricing: the Excellent-line (for intensive use), the standard line (for daily use) and the Basic-line (for regular use). In the course of 2010, the entire Vredestein assortment will be presented in a completely redesigned packaging and shop-in-shop system.”
