Chinese Wuzhou Electric Bikes Ltd Starts e-Bike Factory in Holland

ROOSENDAAL, the Netherlands –Wuzhou Intercontinental Electric Bikes Ltd. (Wuzhou) recently signed the contract for establishing a factory for e-Bikes and e-Scooters in the city of Roosendaal in the Netherlands. The company started with 12 employees and expects within a short time to grow to 50 employees.

Next to the assembly of electric bicycles and scooters the Roosendaal facility will also be the central service and distribution center for Western Europe for existing and new Wuzhou customers in the Benelux, Germany, Italy and France. The 2,000 m² facility is leased from the municipality of Roosendaal.
  
The Wuzhou Group manufactures all kinds of high and low voltage electrical products, including industrial lighting and switches as well as electric bicycles and scooters. Wuzhou stands out from other Chinese companies with similar products as the company and its products are specifically European-styled. Moreover, the company is run by Dutch management.
  
InterContinental Wuzhou Electric Bikes Ltd. in Roosendaal, the Netherlands will operate under the name Apollo Electric Bikes. Products will have the Apollo brand name.

Wuzhou Intercontinental Electric Bikes Co.. Ltd. was founded in 1993 in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province in China. In June 2004 the company was acquired and placed under Dutch management.
  
The first e-Bikes appeared in October 2004 on the market. At present e-Bikes made by Wuzhou are sold under different labels for different customers in the Benelux, Germany, Italy and France.
  
Wuzhou Intercontinental targets its Roosendaal activities in five years to grow to a € 40 to € 50 million business. The company will start this year with the production of their Apollo electric folding bikes to be followed in 2011 with electric scooters.
