Taiwan’s bike export to Europe is recovering again after the serious blow it got last year. Then a close to 15% drop was recorded. Chairman Ying-Ming Yang (photo) of the Taiwan Bicycle Exporters Association (TBEA) reported today that
bike export in units to Europe was up 34.4% during the first half of this year compared to last year.
At the press conference organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, TBEA Chairman Ying-Ming Yang was able to report more shining number for Taiwan’s bike export. In value the total export of bicycles (to all countries) showed a 12.2% growth to US$ 710 million while parts exports were up 35.0% to 309 million.
Europe is by far Taiwan’s biggest export market as 71% of al bikes exported is shipped to the 27 EU member states. At total of 1,840,000 units were exported in the first half of 2010.
