SAN DIEGO, USA - Riding an e-bike becomes even more convenient and comfortable with the introduction of the Harmony intelligent drivetrain by the American company Fallbrook Technologies. It’s an automatic shifting system specially targeting electric bikes. Fallbrook launches it Hall A7 at booth 312.

Alan Nordin, President of the Bicycle Division at Fallbrook Technologies says about the newest NuVinci: “We have chosen a multiple brand strategy with the introduction of the Harmony and not exclusivity, in order to get the best possible market penetration. Another major change in strategy is our focus on communicating to the consumer that this system makes bikes easy to ride and not on the many technical elements. We keep that for the product managers. We are now looking specifically to the e-bike market with the introduction of the first continuously variable shift system that offers the rider the option to shift automatically or manually”, says Nordin.

The Harmony is a continuously variable shifting system to be used in combination with Fallbrook’s NuVinci drivetrain. It allows the rider to cycle between 7 and 23 kilometres per hour at the same cadence in the full automatic mode. The smooth running and gearless operation of the NuVinci hubs guarantees a comfortable drive and the addition of the addition of the Harmony intelligent drivetrain makes it makes it nearly forget that you are riding a bicycle.

At Eurobike the Harmony can be seen on bicycles from Stevens, Bergamont, Raleigh, Hartje, ZEG, Panther Werke, Merida, Centurion, Musing, Hercules, Simpel, Union and Gepida, among others.

More on the Fallbrook’s Harmony intelligent drivetrain is in Bike Europe’s August issue.
