NUNSPEET, The Netherlands (5 March) - The winner of Shimano’s Cycling Concept Award has been announced as the Scottish Cycling Development. The organization is located in the Velodrome at Meadowlark Stadium in Edinburgh and carries out a number of activities including after school bicycle training programs for children. “The NLG 25,000 (US$10,550;EUR16,280) prize money may only be used for this program,” said Frank Peiffer of Shimano.
The main objective of the Shimano Concept Styling Award given to groups or individuals which focus on increasing the use of bicycles. The approach’s can include bike-infrastructure, rental bikes in city centers, the free availability of bikes for short distance transport, or as in the case of the Scottish Cycling Development: training children how to ride and use bicycles.
