TAIPEI, Taiwan (April 9) – The bicycle industry of Taiwan will form a self-called A Team in R&D Projects. This decision, in which assemblers Giant and Merida cooperate with parts suppliers SR Suntour, Velo, Wellgo, SRAM, KMC and Tien Hsin has been fuelled by the dranmatic declines in the Taiwan industry last year. The A Team likes to attract a great deal of participants to achieve (risk sharing) synergy in innovative products design and to determine on the future in the bike industry. ‘This would bring the entire branch to a higher level and boost quality and product development’, according to Taiwan Exporters’ Association TBEA. The making of dedicated and custom made products will be followed by personal after sales services for users (dealers and buyers) Under the banner ‘Innovative Products Defining a Winning Industry’ the R&D project is on site at the Taipei Cycle Show 2002.
