Pacific Cycle/GT Bicycles Appoints Genesis Cycle Inc. Canadian Distributor

TORONTO, Canada (September 27) - Pacific Cycle/GT Bicycles has appointed Genesis Cycle Inc. as the new distributor of the GT brand of bicycles in Canada. Pete Garski, International Sales Director of GT, commented that he was impressed with the enthusiasm and focus with which Genesis Cycle has shown for the potential of the GT brand in the Canadian IBD market. "We want to assure the Canadian dealers that every effort will be made to keep the GT brand within the IBD channel in Canada." Genesis has been supplying the Canadian bicycle dealers since 1996 with bicycles, parts and accessories. Elio Moracci, owner of Genesis Cycle, has been involved in the cycling business for over 30 years. "We are extremely pleased to be able to bring this brand back to Canada", said Moracci. "Our plan is to rebuild the GT line to its former status in Canada, through the IBD channel." The addition of GT Bicycles strengthens the company’s lead in the Canadian wholesale bicycle and accessories market. The contract was signed just days prior to the ExpoCycle, the Canadian Trade show for the Bicycle Trade Association of Canada, that was just held September 15-17th. GT offers a full range of bicycles to fill the Independent Bicycle Dealers needs from BMX to high-end i-drive suspension models. (JO)
