MILAN, Italy (September 18) - Not only Colnago but also DeRosa celebrate their 50th anniversary this year. The EICMA show is the platform to launch the celebration bikes from both companies. 2003 is the ideal year for celebration as Alessandro Colnago, the nephew of company founder Ernesto Colnago explains: he feared that if they had waited for their one-hundred anniversary not many of the original people would have been around to celebrate… Humour aside the anniversary bikes are showcases of Italian attention to detail and show what the Italians aptly call 'the necessary beauty'. The Milan show is also the start of an Italian campaign to promote bikes 'Made in Italy' which has to establish the country's industry as the home of the most beautiful bikes in the world.
