BETHEL, US (October 3rd) - Three top managers have been given their notice at Cannondale US. Dan Alloway, Len Konecny and son of the company's founder, Scott Montgomery were asked to leave. Montgomery was vice president of marketing, Alloway, vice president of sales, had been with the company for more than 15 years and Konecny was vice president of purchasing.
The industry reacted shocked when these lay-offs were announced especially as the Interbike Show in Las Vegas (from October 12 to 14) is around the corner.
But David Uri, director of Cannondale and partner in Pegasus, Cannondale's parent company says: "These changes will provide the company with the necessary internal organisation to achieve its goals".
The timing so close to the Interbike show he explained as: "We didn't want to go into the show with a team we already knew would not be there for very much longer". (MH)
