Giant Recalls 2012 Defy Models

WASHINGTON, USA – In the US Giant Bicycles issued a voluntary recall of all 2012 model year men’s Giant Defy Advanced 0, 1 and 2 model bicycles. These models are also marketed in Europe.

The recall is the result of reports of cracking fork which might result in fall hazards to the rider. Until now no injuries haven been reported in the United States. The Taiwan made bicycles were sold between August and November 2011 in the US. Some 900 bicycles are involved in the recall.

There’s no information available on the situation in Europe regarding these models as Giant Europe in Lelystad, the Netherlands responded on questions by Bike Europe.
