NANJING, China – Next week the first edition of the Asia Bike Show will open its doors as a parallel show with the Asia Outdoor Show. This exhibition will be the first of its kind in China that exclusively targets mountain bikes, sports and luxury bikes, as well as bike wear and accessories. Along with

10,000 trade representatives, 15,000 visitors are expected to see the exhibition on the open days for the public on 27 and 28 July. The trade fair will feature exhibitors from China and abroad, including Shimano, Look, Mavic, Tyrell, DT-Swiss, Pearl Izumi, Merida, PG-Bike, BMW, Focus, Cube, Sigma, Cratoni, Schwalbe, Specialized, UCC, and Triace.

Asia Outdoor, which reaches its sixth edition this year, is recognised as Asia’s leading outdoor trade fair. The outdoor business is booming in China, and the exhibition organisers are seeking to create synergy effects between the outdoor and cycling industries this year by coupling Asia Bike with Asia Outdoor.

“Visitors to the outdoor trade fair are potential bike users and retailers, since outdoor retailers are increasingly including mountain bikes in the outdoor goods segment,” explains trade fair coordinator Knut Jaeger. According to a survey by Nanjing University, the outdoor market in China will continue to grow in 2011 by 25%.

Starting in 2012, Asia Bike will take place as a separate event from Asia Outdoor following the Eurobike.

This year Asia Bike and Asia Outdoor will take place from July 27 – 30 and is organized by the Nanjing Nantex International Exhibition Center and German Messe Exhibition Consulting Ltd., based in Beijing. The partners of German Messe Consulting are Messe Friedrichshafen, Asia Outdoor Marketing in Hong Kong, and Beijing Alpinist Outdoor Media in Beijing.
