Attendance record at Derby Cycle Open House

CLOPPENBURG, Germany - Derby Cycle’s annual Open House appeals to a growing number of dealers. The 9th edition, which took place from Friday August 13th at the Derby facility in Cloppenburg attracted more than 3,200 dealers from Germany and abroad in four days. Whether from Austria, France, Spain, Czech Republic, Great Britain or the various regions of Germany, dealers gather once a year in Cloppenburg, to learn about new models of Kalkhoff, Focus, Raleigh, Univega and Rixe.

Once again e-bikes were the focus of the presentation of the 2012 models. A special highlight this year was Derby’s own Impulse-drive system. The 2012 model will be available with coaster brake or freewheel, a sensor-controlled safety tail light and a large LCD display.

“With more than 3,200 participants in four days we have once again achieved a record attendance”, says Mathias Seidler, CEO of Derby Cycle AG. “We presented them several technological innovations, particularly in the area of e-bikes, new designs and an unbeatable price-ratio line for 2012 models.” For the first time this year, dealers could not only have a look at the new models but also make a test ride on a new on-site track.

The booming e-bike segment was again the main issue at the Open House. “As market leader in the e-bike segment on the German market, we not only offer all the leading systems, but also push forward further developments and provide ongoing innovations,” said Seidler.
