Baltic Vairas Celebrates its Fifth Million Bicycle

LOEHNE, Germany - Sister company of German bicycle manufacturer Panther Werke AG, Baltic Vairas based in Siauliai, Lithuania, celebrates the production of its fifth million bicycle since its privatization in 1993. Panther Werke took the opportunity of this golden anniversary to launch a special bike with a historic Baltic Vairas design. At the same time the company celebrates its 60th anniversary since the start of the production bicycles in 1951.

UAB Baltic Vairas is the largest manufacturing company of Panther International GmbH, with nearly 600 employees and approximately 40,000 square meters of production and warehouse space. The company produces high quality urban and trekking bikes.

The Panthers, founded in 1896 Werke AG is one of the largest suppliers of bicycles for the German IBDs. The group’s total production is approximately 450,000 units annually. The Panther Group distributes its own brands and Panther Goericke as well as quality bikes and e-bikes and for the private label sector. With its own e-bike development department the East Westphalian bicycle manufacturer handles all stages from engineering to production of advanced and e-bikes ‘Made in Germany’.

After the anniversary celebrations, the golden bike will be handed over to the Bicycle Museum of Siauliaiv as a gift where it will be put on display.
