Bosal introduces a folding bike rack for two electric bicycles. The carrier is available for hybrid cars, but also fits ordinary passenger cars with a tow bar system. A special kit makes the carrier suitable for small cars such as the Ford Ka and the Fiat 500, as well as hybrid cars such as the Toyota Prius and Honda Civic or Insight.
“The strong emergence of e-bikes means that existing bicycle racks on the tow bar have become inadequate, while most systems also don’t fit on a hybrid car,” says Jeroen van Dongen, Marketing & Product Specialist at Bosal Automotive.
“We developed a robust bike carrier to fit two heavier e-bikes as the maximum weight is 60 kilograms. This carrier is very easy to use and comes with a special ramp so you don’t have to lift the heavier e-bikes on the carrier.”
As it is not allowed by the manufacturer’s specifications for hybrid cars such as the Toyota Pruis and Honda Civic and Insight to drive with a caravan or trailer Bosal developed a new bike carrying system. The same system can be used on small cars like the Ford Ka, Peugeot 107 and Fiat 500. The new carrier system not only suits specific cars but is also foldable making it very easy to store.
