SKS Germany Partners with Maxland Guangzhou for Distribution in China

SUNDERN, Germany – At last week’s Taichung Bike Week SKS Metaplast and Maxland Guangzhou announced that they concluded an agreement for the distribution of the German branded products in China.

“Obtaining a good market position on the Chinese bicycle market requires a lot of support and above all the right business partner,” stated Stefano Zugno, export manager in charge for Asia at SKS Metaplast. “We started working together early 2011 and we already got a lot positive response on the business partner Maxland Guangzhou.”

“We are serving several European customers having their comfort and e-bikes made in China now, and they want specific SKS mudguards, chainguards and air pumps”, adds Katja Scheffer, in charge of Europe. “The aim of this partnership is to distribute in China our AS range of items produced in Germany offering the Chinese OEM makers a ‘hybrid’ solution for mudguards and chainguards either.”

Daniel Tang, president of Maxland explains how this ‘hybrid solution’ works. “The complete SKS items are imported to create a buffer stock for the OEMs in China. To allow more competitive pricing and faster deliveries we also assemble SKS products from core parts made in Germany. The AS products will always be made completely in Germany.
