Campagnolo’s announcement at Eurobike to launch electronic shifting on the consumer market will definitely raise eyebrows. In the past professional road racers could already learn about Campagnolo’s electronic shifting system but the Italian component manufacturer never developed a system to such level and made it available for consumers.
Electronics on a bike is one of the main products issues at this year’s Eurobike and Campagnolo did put this poster on their booth to attract attention for their product development. However the bicycle on display was equipped with the electronic shifting system used by the professionals and not with a system ready for the market.
Lorenzo Taxis, marketing and communication manager of Campagnolo, told Bike Europe that it is not yet known when this electronic shifting system will be ready for distribution.
