Carbon Manufacturer Gigantex Opens European Office

BRNO, Czech Republic – Taiwanese specialist producer of carbon components as well as frames, Gigantex Composite Technologies entered into a joint venture called Equinox Europe sro. The Equinox brand, launched by Gigantex at Taipei Cycle Show 2009, covers a wide portfolio of complete carbon wheels and other cycling components manufactured in its Taiwan facility.

“Our ambition is to become one of the market leaders in carbon bicycle wheels and carbon accessories within five years”, says Milan Šimek, director of Equinox Europe sro. Equinox will be launched officially on the European market at the Bike Brno Trade Show from October 7 to 10. However its first products will already be available in the cycle shops in September. Equinox is focused on technical innovation, product development and manufacturing.

Equinox Europe is founded together with Equinox manufacturer Gigantex who owes one third of its shares. Its headquarter is located in the Czech Republic, from where it will manage distribution of its carbon fibre products to all markets in Europe.

Our new brand should appeal to cyclists who demand the latest technology, comfort and design, says Milan Šimek.
