RAYONG, Thailand – Bicycle tyre manufacturer Challenge Tech has recently expanded its production capacity to meet growing demand in the market for tubular and clinchers tyres. “We have invested nearly 2.2 million euro to build a new plant in order to increase our capacity and to shorten our lead times as the market requires”, says Alex Brauns, CEO Challenge Tech Co., Ltd.
Challenge Tech was founded in 2000 by Max and Alex Brauns and is based in Southern Thailand. The company specializes in the traditional handmade tubular and clinchers tyres. “Despite our expansion we want to remain a medium size plant with a certain increase in the current work force to retain our character as a specialist in high end products”, says Alex Brauns.
The head office of the group is based in Switzerland. The distribution for the European market is handled by Brewo srl, based in Italy and managed by Mr. Claudio Santi. The business in the rest of the world is done by the office in Thailand.
Challenge has been sponsoring several Pro-Tour teams such as Footon-Servetto last year. For 2011 the company has just signed a contract with US based Team RadioShack.
