FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – The first signs became already apparent at the Taipei Cycle Show earlier this year and were confirmed at Eurobike. Design and styling are very much gaining importance within the bike industry.
In many booths a large variety of colours were dominating the news for 2010. Every part of the bike, from the chain to even the smallest screws are now generally available in any likeable colour. This presents product managers the opportunity to give their bikes a more unique styling.
On the other hand the consumer can pimp his bike after he has ordered a made-to-measure model. Pimping your bike was already common in small niche markets but seems to become a general trend.
The downside of this trend is that bike makers have to be very aware of current and future fashionable colours ? Which colour will become popular or has it reached the top of its success yet? Looking at what this year’s Eurobike presented colour and design will dominate the bike shops next year.
