FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – It was already discussed at last year’s Eurobike; this year it will be officially founded: the ‘Cycling Industry Club’. On the first Eurobike day - August 31 - representatives of some of the leading companies and the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF) will meet to discuss future collaboration which is to push pro-bicycle policies across Europe.
The joining of forces between some of the biggest bike companies and the ECF has been an ambition for some time. Last year’s Eurobike saw CEO’s from leading international companies agree on the idea of forming an ECF Cycling Industry Club. Companies involved include Accell Group, DT Swiss, Schwalbe, Selle Royal, SRAM, Trek and Trelock.
At the August 31 meeting the Cycling Industry Club is to become reality, with an aim to review ECF’s lobby and promotion activities and target Europe for new projects.
