LILLE, France – The world’s largest sporting goods retailer is setting foot in Scandinavia. A series of ten stores are to be opened in Sweden in the next years.
Together with a logistics hub the network will form the basis for Décathlon to enter other Scandinavian countries too.
According to a recent report by ‘Sporting Goods Intelligence’ (SGI), Décathlon has signed all the contracts that should enable it to open its first, 7,000 square meters store in Stockholm before the end of the year. Nine more are to follow in Sweden in the next five years. Five of them are already planned and preliminary booking for space are made, according to the SGI report.
