MUNICH, Germany – The second edition of the BrandNew Awards, organized in connection with Bike Expo, saw more than 80 entries from 14 countries this year presenting new products and service concepts all related to cycling. The jury evaluated all entries and selected the frontrunners in seven categories as well as an overall winner.
Not surprisingly it was an e-bike again which got most of the attention and won the overall award. The e-bikes by Stromer from Switzerland impressed the jury with their fully integrated battery e-bike system: the battery is hidden in the frame, and can be exchanged conveniently with pressing a button. Energy is recovered during braking, which results in increased performance and expanded range. A gearless hub motor prevents drive and chain wear.
Stromer e-bikes offer stepless, four-level acceleration. The jury report states: The e-bikes are state-of-the-art and their agile design offers pure cycling enjoyment.
In the category bikes it was the robaX , designed particularly for business use that attracted most of the attention of the jury members and received the Bike Expo Brand New Award. The other category winners are:
- Singlespeed/Fixed Gear: Bedovelo twin fixed by Bedovelo
- E-Bike/Pedelec: Electrolyte by veloinnovation GmbH
- Bike Parts: POP Products by Parts of Passion GmbH
- Apparel: DZR Shoes “SPD” compatible sneakers which combine urban style and athletic function
- Accessories: Solestar insole for cycling shoes
- Nutrition: Frutero smoothies and fruit chips
The award winning products will be in display at the BrandNew Awards booth during Bike Expo. This show will take place from July 21-24 in Munich.
