US E-Bike Battery Maker Receives State Grant

CHICAGO, USA – E-bike battery maker AllCell Technologies LLC received a USD 460,433 grant as part of the state’s efforts to retool the Illinois economy “to include thousands of green industry businesses and workers through Governor Pat Quinn’s (photo) State Energy Plan”. According to a press release this grant “is part of state investment of more than US$ 100 million in federal stimulus funding to improve energy consumption, strengthen the economy and create jobs”.

“Creating jobs is priority number one, and the growing green sector is supporting our economic recovery”, stated Governor Pat Quinn on his Chicago AllCell facility visit on 5th October, “I am committed to doing all I can to ensure that Illinois will continue to be a leader in developing safe, reliable energy solutions that lower utility bills, lessen our overall reliance on foreign oil and create good-paying jobs.”

AllCell Technologies manufacturer of thermal management solutions and battery packs for high-power lithium-ion based systems in application such as hybrid and electric automotives and LEV’s (including e-scooters, e-bikes and neighbourhood e-vehicles, now plans to increase production capacity for lithium-ion batteries dramatically at the company’s factory in the vicinity of Chicago.

According to CEO Said Al-Hallaj the state grant will support the installation of a large array of solar panels on the building roof “as well as major weatherization and energy efficiency improvements. The projects will create and retail a total of 24 full-time and part-time jobs”.

According to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity the state of Illinois is a leader in green energy revolutions. Our targeted investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency and green manufacturing will pay dividends for workers today as well as future generations.
