BAD NAUHEIM, Germany - The JD Group, manufacturer and developer of technology for e-Bikes has passed the EN 15194:2009 certification by the Comité Européen de Normalisation (CEN) for its ES504 TranzX PST e-Bike.
According to JD Group the TranzX PST e-Bike is one of the first to officially passed the new European standards and received the certificate from the test institute. EN 15194 has become the national standard in the EU and EFTA countries. All other national standards are to be withdrawn at the latest by this month
“Consumer protection and standard safety regulations become even more important as the electric bicycle market continues to increase in Europe,” said Johnson Cho, General Manager of the JD Group. “Our team works hard to ensure that all of our products meet the highest safety standards and we welcome this new coherent certification standard and set of specifications that now apply throughout Europe.”
According to the CEN/CENELEC internal regulations, the national standards organizations of the following countries are set to implement the new EN 15194:2009 European standard: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
