Bike Europe EurobikeFRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – Visitors and exhibitors have been coming to the South of Germany to the biggest bikes show on earth for years. However from this year on, Eurobike will increasingly underscore the major significance of the event.

“We need the right brand profile to match the worldwide leadership objective of the trade show,” said Marketing Director Ludwig Meier when asked about the decision to launch a new campaign. International, innovative, top-notch and high-tech oriented: These are the qualities that are reflected in the new Eurobike image.

This year Eurobike will introduce new extended opening hours for this year’s event from 4 to 7 September. In 2008, Eurobike will open its doors to the public one hour later (10:00 am) but close two hours later (8:00 pm) in the evening. There are three good reasons for this change: Exhibitors and trade visitors will have an extra hour to take care of business at the show, the longer opening hours in the evening are in keeping with today’s trends, and the new schedule significantly helps to reduce roadway congestion by eliminating trade show rush hour traffic in the mornings and evenings.

The response to the first Demo Day in 2007 was overwhelming. According to Klaus Wellmann and Project Manager Stefan Reisinger: “At the second edition of this event, on Wednesday, 3 September 2008, we again anticipate to see an enormous amount of interest.”

New dates for 2009

There are also new plans for the trade show starting with Eurobike 2009. When two extra halls and the new entrance foyer are completed, the event can cover a total of 85,000 sqaure meters of exhibition space in 12 halls. Starting in 2009, Eurobike will be open on different days of the week. In response to requests by the bicycle industry, the exhibition will be open from Wednesday through Saturday (2 - 5 September 2009). Three weekdays, Wednesday through Friday, will be dedicated to trade visitors. The show will close on Saturday with Open House Day for the general public.
