REDDITCH, UK – Halfords’ financial results over 2006 were even better than indicated before. Between April 05 and March 06 revenues were 9.1% up to 1,019 million (GBP 744) and the profit before tax 110.9 million (GBP 80.9).
The UK’s leading retailer in cycling, auto and leisure products, Halfords runs 426 stores and employees 10.000 staff. The number of stores includes 15 smaller format, neighbourhood, stores and two standalone Bikehuts.
Halfords CEO Ian McLeod said: “The essence of our successful business model lies in our range differentiation and strong defensive characteristics. We are both market leader and store of first choice in each of our key markets. We have the UK’s largest range of car parts, a third of the UK cycle market and are now clearly established as the UK’s leading provider of In-Car Technology solutions.”
