How E-bike Wheels Are Made on Holland Mechanics Wheel Building Machinery

Holland Mechanics is well known for their innovative wheel building solutions, including e-bike wheel assembly. Already more than 7 years ago HM picked up the challenge with Sparta for the development of a special lacing machine equipped for e-bike wheels with large motor hubs. As a result Holland Mechanics developed an In-line lacing machine which can position the nipple screwdriver exactly In-line with the spoke. Therefore the machine can lace these large diameter e-bike hubs and it can also cope with all modern e-bike rims like the Rigida Andra, Rodi Web and Shürmann.


 

Today this machine is a big success, and besides Sparta who is running 7 wheel building lines this machine is also installed at companies like Ansman, Cycleurope, KTM, Batavus, Union, Hartje, Roland, Panther and many more. Soon after the first generation Holland Mechanics extended the E-Bike Line with a robot for trueing the wheels with the large e-bike hubs.

Smart solutions, like a special catcher for e-bike wires, wider versions for wide hubs and reinforcements to handle the heavy wheels are integrated in this robot. Holland Mechanics works closely together with leading manufacturers like Shimano and Bionx who are also using Holland Mechanics equipment, to stay focused on the latest developments.
