Interbike Show Director Resigns

LAS VEGAS, USA – Interbike’s show director Andy Tompkins (photo) leaves the company at the end of this month to pursue other professional opportunities. Tompkins is moving on following fifteen years of service with Interbike’s parent company, Nielsen, including four years as Interbike’s show director.

Pat Hus, Interbike’s current show manager will be assuming all leadership responsibilities for the show. In addition, Interbike will be adding two supporting staff positions to its marketing and sales teams. “We appreciate Andy’s contributions in navigating Interbike over the last four years and helping to position the show for success in the future,” said Hus. “We all wish Andy the very best in his future endeavors.”

“After a long and rewarding tenure with Nielsen, I am excited to embark on my next challenge,” said Tompkins. “With a successful 2011 show behind us and now with Pat and the new team in place, I feel confident that I am leaving Interbike in a great place and in very good hands.”

Tompkins most dramatic moment in Interbike’s history came in October 2010 when the show director took all the blame for the decision to move the show outside Las Vegas and to an earlier date in August. His statement created disbelieves and amazement throughout the industry and Interbike stayed in Las Vegas in September.
