STUTTGART, Germany - On last week’s Paul Lange & Co. house show the German Shimano distributor celebrated its 40th partnership anniversary with Shimano. Paul Lange was the first Shimano-distributor in Europe. It was in 1966 when company founder Paul Lange flew over to Japan and signed a contract with Shimano. On 1.1.1967 the Stuttgart-based company started officially with the exclusive Shimano distributorship for Germany and Austria. 87 year-old Fernanda Lange (left), widow company founder Paul, and her children Bernhard Lange (now company CEO) and Barbara Schattmaier (company CFO, right) welcomed Yuzo Shimano and Shimano Europe directors Frank Peiffer and Marc Van Rooij for the celebration. Yuzo – son of current Shimano boss Yozo Shimano - is the fourth generation since founder Shozaburo. Yuzo works as staff member at Shimano in Karvina/Czech Republic. (JB)
