Messe Muenchen Confident on Future of Bike Expo/ISPO Bike

MUNICH, Germany – The Messe Munich reports a rise in trade visitors of 14% to 6,500 of the Bike Expo which closed its doors last Sunday. Those visitors did not find the biggest news on the show floor as most exhibitors kept their premieres for Eurobike. The main news of Bike Expo came from organizers themselves: a date and name change of this event as Bike Europe reported last week.

This year Bike Expo saw total of 301 exhibitors from 22 countries, 17 percent more than at the prior year’s event. Many were encouraged by the retailers’ high degree of willingness to place orders.

Once again, the focus of the event was on e-bikes and Pedelecs. They are considered the absolute driving force behind the growth in the cycling industry and this show. “We have the space and facilities available to house the growing number of suppliers who want to have international platform for their innovations and products” says Markus Hefter, Exhibition Group Director of the Bike Expo and ISPO. “Therefore we are most confident on the potential of this show in future.”

By integrating the ISPO brand and the Bike Expo organizers intend to expand the bicycle show’s international exposure and to increase the profitability of its exhibitors with the help of additional ISPO services. The new dates are Messe München’s response to requests from the entire cycling industry, manufacturers as well as retailers.

Next year the ISPO Bike will take place from August 16-19.
