BRISBANE, Australia - Supported by the Queensland Government, the inaugural Asia-Pacific Cycle Congres will bring together key cycling experts, researchers and enthusiasts from around the world to showcase innovation and learn from shared experience. The congres will be held from 18-21 September 2011 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Bank, and is expected to attract approximately 400 congress delegates.
The Congres will feature international keynote speakers and industry specialists leading presentations, panels and workshops on topics of cycleway planning, innovative design and infrastructure; cycling promotion and sharing the road; sustainable practice and communities.
The Congres will provide a forum for industry networking, developing technical approaches to cycleway planning and discussing strategies for maximising cycling mode share. A range of cycling-related tours, events and entertaining forums will be included in the program, ensuring there is something for everyone.
The organization is inviting everybody to submit their abstracts to to contribute to progressing cycling as a sustainable, healthy and economically viable mode of active transport. Abstract submissions close 15 April 2011.
