UTRECHT, the Netherlands – A full house this year for the Bike Motion Benelux. To provide sufficient space for all exhibitors VNU Exhibitions enlarged the show from three halls last year to four for next month’s edition. With this additional space the size of the show floor will increase by 6,000 square meters to 32,500 square meters.
“The sports bike is in the centre of attention and the Bike Motion Show is a great event to spur sales in the Benelux market”, says Daniel Bentvelt, project manager of the Bike Motion Benelux. “Immediately after the major international bicycle trade fairs the latest innovations are presented in Utrecht. The big interest in participating in Bike Motion Benelux is the result of the successful 2008 show. Almost 25,000 fans, a record, came to ‘their’ cycling event.”
Some growth figures: the number of exhibitors increased from 160 to almost 200 and the number of brands from 400 to 600. More and more international exhibitors see the value of this event shown by the increasing prominent role of foreign companies from Belgium, France, Germany and especially Italy.
“The success of Bike Motion underlines the positive development of the industry”, says Maurice Manders of the Dutch dealer association BOVAG. “We notice a growing interest in sports bikes in the Netherlands. More and more people who get on a road bike or MTB for touring and sports choose a good quality bike.”
